And it’s the question millions of the channels’ viewers in postcodes across France were no doubt left asking themselves while watching the news report about the €59.7 million PostcodeKanjer prize won by neighbours in the Dutch village of Balkbrug.

Spreading the joy
To mark this biggest PostcodeKanjer ever, the Postcode Lottery hosted a huge celebration in Balkbrug. The players in the now famous village, which is about a 90-minute drive from Amsterdam, win amounts ranging all the way up to €3.3 million per ticket.

In addition to the nearly 30 million euros shared among the winners in the winning street, the amount won per ticket for everyone playing with the winning area postal code was also announced. This represents the other half of the total prize of nearly 60 million euros

The biggest winners, those with Balkbrug’s full winning 7707 AZ postcode, shared an incredible €29.8 million. In addition to the nearly €30 million split among the winners in the lucky street, the remaining prize pot was distributed among all ticket holders in the winning village, ensuring that every player with the winning postcode took home a share of the nearly €60 million prize. At the party the amount won per ticket in the village was revealed.

From plans for home renovations to luxurious ski trips, the winners shared their dreams and reactions, giving a glimpse into how the prize will transform their lives.
