Developing tomorrow’s tech leaders

The Postcode Lottery Group has launched a three-year data science talent programme. New hires will work internationally on challenging and impactful initiatives.

The Postcode Lottery Group launched its first international talent programme for ambitious data scientists (postcodelotterytalent.com). This programme seeks to bring together and develop knowledge, expertise and technology in the field of analytics within the Postcode Lottery Group and scale it across five countries. The international analytics team will focus on setting a new standard for data, analytics, artificial intelligence (AI) and insights for the Postcode Lotteries in the Netherlands, Sweden, Great Britain, Germany and Norway.

New hires will complete a three-year programme starting in Amsterdam, followed by a placement in Stockholm, Düsseldorf, or Edinburgh. They’ll receive an educational programme from AI specialists MIcompany. Personal coaching and leadership training is also part of the programme.

First lottery-wide programme
The Lotteries had talent projects before, but this is the first time a talent programme has been set up on a lottery-wide level. “While each lottery is different, we share a common business model and face similar market challenges,” says Anne de Bie, head of marketing intelligence and technology. “New technological advances allow for a faster and smarter roll-out of powerful analytics and models. With young top talent on board along with our existing talented colleagues, I am looking forward to delivering impactful initiatives to reach our growth ambition.”

The International Talent Hub campaign is the first to be launched within the framework of the Postcode Lottery Group employer brand: ‘Great jobs. Better world’. The aim is to show new colleagues the two unique selling points of working for the Lotteries – having a great job and doing good at the same time.

Job talent campaign
The concept center of the Nationale Postcode Loterij in the Netherlands developed the new employer brand promise and the job talent campaign, which spans digital and social media. The campaign shows the two worlds of the Postcode Lottery Group side by side: the world that we work in to achieve our goals and the world that we are helping to make better.

In the first two months, 200 people applied and the campaign is still running. As a result, the Lotteries welcomed the first data scientists on December 1st. 2022.
