Postcode Lottery Group raises a record €1 billion for charities in 2025

The Postcode Lottery Group achieved a historic milestone in 2025 by raising a record €1 billion for charities in a single year. This was due to the Group’s strong financial performance in the same period, with growth of 5.1% and total revenues of €2.8 billion.

It means more than €15 billion has now been raised since the first Postcode Lottery was established in the Netherlands in 1989.

The achievements of 2025 demonstrate the collective strength of all six lotteries across the five Postcode Lottery countries – the Netherlands, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Germany and Norway – with each contributing to the Group’s continued growth and impact.

The €1 billion raised last year provides vital, long-term and flexible funding to more than 500 major charity partners and thousands of neighbourhood and community initiatives.

Thanks to the support of 15 million players, the Postcode Lottery Group’s sustainable business model and commitment to long-term funding provide its charity partners with the certainty they need to plan, innovate and maximise impact.

The Postcode Lottery Group is viewed internationally as a Dutch success story. What began as an innovative fundraising idea in the Netherlands has grown into a model for charity lotteries across Europe.

With strong growth in established markets and increasing interest from charities in other countries eager to see Postcode Lotteries launch there, international expansion remains a priority. As the Group grows, so too does its global impact.

Postcode Lottery Group CEO, Sigrid van Aken, said: “€15 billion is a remarkable achievement. Even more powerful is what this funding has enabled. It’s strengthening communities, creating healthier environments, protecting species, advancing human rights and much more. These milestones are down to our players, charity partners and our people, working together to create lasting change.”

The total amount raised for charities has climbed rapidly from €10 billion in 2020 to €15 billion in five years, underlining the accelerating impact of the Postcode Lottery model.

As the Group looks ahead, its focus remains clear: to grow responsibly, engage more players and increase funding for charities year after year – ensuring that together, even more good can be done.
