Canadian charities join session with renowned fundraiser

Charitable organisations from all over Ontario, Canada, recently participated in an interactive and engaging online session with American author, humanitarian activist and fundraiser Dan Pallotta.

The renowned fundraiser, Dan Pallotta, who advocates that charitable organisations should be judged on their impact rather than just their overhead costs, and hundreds of Ontario charities came together as part of an online session hosted by the Canadian Postcode Lottery Foundation and the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association (OCGA).

Making a difference in Otario
As well as introducing some of OCGA’s members – charities and non-profits making a difference in Ontario – to the Postcode Lottery Group, the hour-long session included an impactful conversation with Dan Pallotta and discussion around the funding and fundraising landscape. Pallotta believes in the importance for non-profits to invest in fundraising activities to grow, innovate and achieve their mission more effectively.


Ontario Charitable Gaming Association (OCGA) Executive Director Lynn Cassidy welcomed charities to the session

Lynn Cassidy, Executive Director of the OCGA, said: “I’m so pleased our members could participate in this inspirational session with Dan Pallottasharing his vast experience, it really challenged our thinking. The Postcode Lottery’s approach to supporting communities and charities through lotteries is unique. We’re excited about the possibility of it coming to Ontario as it would provide a wonderful opportunity for fundraising for our charities.”

Running events like this that benefit Ontario’s charitable and non-profit sector are a core part of the ongoing work of the Canadian Postcode Lottery Foundation.

The Postcode Lottery Group is currently in contact with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) about a license to run a Postcode Lottery in Ontario to raise vital funds for charities and good causes in Ontario.
