€15 billion raised for people and planet

The Postcode Lottery Group has reached a major charity funding milestone: a total of €15 billion raised for charities since 1989.

Thanks to almost 15 million Postcode Lottery players, the Postcode Lottery Group has surpassed €15 billion in funding, helping create a healthier, fairer, greener world.

It’s €15 billion in long-term, unrestricted funding for local and global charities working across culture, nature, climate, health, human rights, poverty alleviation and community projects.

Postcode Lottery Group CEO, Sigrid van Aken, said: “€15 billion is a remarkable achievement. Even more powerful is what this funding has enabled. It’s strengthening communities, creating healthier environments, protecting species, advancing human rights and much more. This milestone is down to our players, charity partners and our people, working together to create lasting change.”

Since its launch in 1989 with the Nationale Postcode Loterij in the Netherlands, the Postcode Lottery Group has expanded to six lotteries in five countries – the Netherlands, Sweden, Great Britain, Germany and Norway. Turnover reached a record €2.7 billion, with a total of €969 million raised for charity in 2024 alone.

The total raised for charities and good causes has climbed from €10 billion in 2020 to €15 billion in just five and a half years.
